Eamon, that's an interesting article.

It brings something to mind. I cannot remember seeing any images of Venus from our astrophotography guy's on these boards.:cry:

Come on guy's, lets see what you can get with Venus being a great evening sky object/target now.:wink:

John,
you should check out the Transit of Venus threads - there are loads of them on these boards! Just do a search. Lots of the guys here took pictures up to the Transit in June 2004.

Come on Seanie, we have all seen loads of those transit shots.

I am talking about some detailed images of the phase etc.

I know surface detail is not possible but is that why we don't have some better images of Venus than those transit one's. :?:

I know this has been here before, but for the newbies....

Its the phases and relative sizes of venus in the first half of 2004, that brings back alot of memories.

Funnily enough, I tried for Venus only yesterday, but its so low that it was been blocked by neighbouring houses, bummer. :(
