Just snapped this shot this evening while putting up the crimbo tree. A 15 sec exposure at ISO800 of the hunter rising in the east above the trees in my front garden. I was pretty happy with it considering the mist and fog in the air..

The high res image i have is far better. Id put it up but i dont want to stretch the forum

I reckon Orion must be the most popular and well known constellation worldwide. The Hunter always reminds me of cold winter evenings and childhood astronomy. Oh the nostalgia :oops:

Keith, I find that also, I cought it over a month ago and it felt strange seeing it in October.. to see M57 and M42 both clearly on ther same night... almost like some sort of time travel... :wink: :lol:
