The Moon & Mars this morning - 4am was created by Keith g
Did anybody get to see the moon less than 1 degree from Mars this morning?
I got up at 4am, and what a sight it was. I drove a few miles to a dark site with a good western view to take this shot, not as nice as the naked eye, but it just goes to show how close these two were! I should have taken a very short exposure of the moon to show it's features, but my battery ran very low
Details: Canon 300D, Tripod, Canon ef 85mm lens at f3.5, ISO 100, 4 seconds.

I ran off a good few shots last night trying to get them. Couldn't get a good shot though - to get any detail on the Moon you couldn't pick up Mars. Leave it open long enough to get Mars and the Moon washed the shot out! Though I did get some weird looking pics where I think I had it out of focus or something and Mars came up as a disc! Must check them out on the computer actually.

coruscations attending the whole length of the luminosity, giving to the phenomena the aspect of a wrathful messenger, and not that of a tranquil body pursuing a harmless course..comet of 1680

Thats a lovely shot Keith..it captures the silent beauty of these 2 bodies at that special time of the night.
Great capture
