New Years Eve Aurora

New Years Eve Aurora was created by martinastro
Observed a faint Aurora this evening on New Years Eve. First spotted from my bedroom window at 18.55 as a bright large glow in the north similar to moonlight reflecting of clouds with an eerie white/blue colour. I even seen several compacted vertical rays. I ran outside with the camera and got 2 images however by this stage the display had faded so the images barely recorded much. Stay tuned for more activity tonight. ISO 800 and 1600 15 sec exp...

LOL yea that was a faint one alright and not photogenic maybe later tonight something bigger will appear. I will be ready for it if it happens!
