Based on stellar photometry from the Sloan Deep Sky Survey, Zucker et al have announced the discovery of a new dwarf spheroidal satellite galaxy of M31, the Andromeda Galaxy. Details here with links to PDF document:
arXiv.org/abs/astro-ph/0601599

The galaxy is named Andromeda X. I understand the paper has just been submitted to the ApJ so not yet refereed. According to the PDF, Andromeda X is similar to Andromeda IX and has a total apparent magnitude of 16.1.

.......and the rest! :) The Sloan DSS uses a 2.5-metre telescope and a 120 megapixel camera. Don't think a 16" dob will cut it!
