No, not buring out CCD chips on 2m telescopes for a few hours!

Just wanted to give people the URL's and tools that were mentioned in the talks at the CSP today.

Firstly the Faulkes telescope project is at www.faulkes-telescope.com/
Dr. Paul Roche spoke about the project and where it is going. Observing on the system is free for educational usage. Each astronomy club is encouraged to sign up the project. Time on the scopes is free for educational use as I mentioned, basically this consists of either usage in a classroom in a school or on a public outreach event. There is a fee for private imaging. IFAS will be working with Dr. Roche, teachers, and professional astronomers to help where we can with using the telescopes in public and school outreach.

The second URL I want to mention is for Midnight Mars. midnightmarsbrowser.blogspot.com/ This is a java application that has the ability to download images from the Mars Rovers. There are several cool things about this application. Firstly you can download 3D images, secondly you can download the latest images from Mars. Using this tool, Leo Enright was able to show us images from the Rovers taken only several hours before.

Cheers,
~Albert
