Meade Dsi - laptop spec?? was created by StephenK
Are there any mnimum requirements made of a laptop to run a meade dsi/autostar suite. Im not all that up on pcs.... so basically im asking will any laptop do.... or does it have to have particular things.
Alternatively, where would i get a cable long enough to run from my pc to the scope 20 metres away... and would that long a cable affect any quality.

According to Meade the required specs are quite low:
As regards cable length iirc the limit is 25 feet unless you can get a booster for it.
Meade DSI page
Minimum System Requirements
Pentium-II 400MHz computer (Pentium-4 2GHz computer recommended), 98 Mega-Bytes of RAM (512 Mega-Bytes recommended), 200 Mega Bytes of available hard-drive space (>1GB recommended), CD ROM drive, Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP (Windows XP recommended), USB 1.1 (2.0 recommended) available full-powered port.
