I like the way Google incorporates cartoon drawings into its web page title and it's usually topical so why is it showing Earth with a telescope on it pointing at a couple of green Martians at the moment?

Its for Percival Lowell - if you let your cursor hover over the graphic, that's what it says.

Dunno what the significance of it being this specific day is though...

Aye, should have mentioned the Lowell link too.
