Well, this is it, I'm finding it harder to get to sleep knowing that the eclipse is only a few days away.
I've just spent the last 3 hours packing and making sure nothing gets left behind, like tripods, cable release, camera adapters and other bits'n pieces.
Make sure you pack everthing you need, forgetting such things as the solar filter could prove quite embarassing
See you all in amsterdam.

" ... I'm just a jealous guy ... "
Best of luck to everyone involved in a trip from Ireland to the eclipse, especially those on the IFAS trip. I have to admit to a kind of laissez-faire attitude to it, which has pretty much evaporated this morning with Dave's obviously excited post and has been replaced with a crushing jealousy.
Have a great trip lads, I hope it is the experience of a lifetime, and I look forward to hearing many great stories and seeing many fantastic photos.
Clear skies, truly, clear skies.

Thanks for that Shane. We are sorry that not all friends and astronomers could make the trip, it would have made it more fun and unique to have had the rest of you over with us.
We will no doubt regail you all with our tales from the hotel on Wednesday evening!
I hope there is even a glimmer of sunlight to let you guys see some partial shadow.

Thanks for that Shane.
I have to say it lived up to my expectations, no, actually it was better and I the only thing I left behind in Ireland was the phone charger which I got a loan of one off one of the guys here, thanks Paul.
