Hmmm .... Murphy's law, that actually reminds me of the funniest thing I heard on the day of the transit. One of the people who came along and patiently waited 45mins to get a look said "you know, Irish Astronomers are a lot like the Jamaican Bobsleigh team, the climate just isn't right for it here but that doesn't seem to stop you guys" or something to that effect.
I'd never heard aout hobby described quite that accurately before!
