'Commotion in Europe'
The poster claims:
There is a lot of commotion in Europe. The wharehouse Lidl has bought
10.000 Meade LXD 75 6 inch Newtons (complete with mount, statif, Go
To/Auto Star).
The scopes will be sold for 599 euro's and with 5 years warrant. The
normal price in Holland is about 900 euro's. The sale begins monday 18
december and I think the scopes will be sold out very soon.
 Oh dear god help them.
They go on to say:
So, in about a week there will be 10.000 new LXD75 users in Europe and
may be a lot of new members of the LXD 75 forum..........?
Yup...
all asking the same question:
''WHY THE HELL IS MY SCOPE NOT WORKING!!!!!''
I hope those boys in the service dep. at Meade get a good nights sleep tonight,
there gonna need it in the morning!

Better that old people should die of talk than to have young people die in war.

Aside from all the jokes,
(and hey, aren't we allowed to poke some fun...after the time we've had!)
Obviously no product is going to have a 100% non-failure rate
but in fairness the amount of faulty units sold to people on this board
does seem disporportionately high.
(Its around 9 faulty out of 12 working)
As for how many are working elsewhere in the country, well,
I guess that is a question only Lidl can answer.
They would have to total how many units were sold and
how many came back.
Remember, others and including mysef have not returned the unit to lidl
and are attempting to repair it with a new replacement part,
therefore to find out a true figure of how many are faulty is a tough one.
You would have to get a returns figure from Lidl
and
A total number of the people to whom Meade in Germany are sending replacements.
(The curriour delivering my part told me he had several of the same parcells to deliver)
Prehaps thats why it took them THREE weeks to send it,
maybe they were waiting to post all of them together!
