Hi,
Just wondering if anyone here had any thoughts or experience on the cheapest way to get to La Palma.
Yes this is astronomy related and not 'Al going on holidays' related!

Yeah, but you wouldn't be going purely for astronomical reasons! Shall I set up an AstroHoliday forum for you Albert? You can moderate it all on your ownio!

I've looked around (briefly) and was not able to see any direct flights form here to there, budget travel certainly don't go there.

No budget don't! The best option might be a budget flight to Madrid and then Iberia to La Palma. But I cant find a way to make the connections work without a night on the floor of Madrid airport.

Hi,
I went there in September. Arranging a flight with an airline is near to impossible and you would have to fly to the UK and then to Spain and then onwards. Costs a fortune as well.
In the end I went to a travel agency and I booked a flight only on a charter holiday. Much cheaper and direct flight from Dublin.
Was kinda funny.. I was on my own as I was going over for a University project, and there was this old couple sitting next to me on the plain, being very concerned that I was going on holiday on my own .... so I explained them it wasnt a "usual" holiday.
