New Feature

Hi all,

I have created a new feature that will hopefully help get people away from the yahoo group and on to this group.

From now on every time an new topic is started on theses boards a notification email will be sent to the yahoo group.

It is not 100% functional yet becasue there is a bug in it which is preventing the topic title from being printed (no idea why!) but I'm sure I'll get it fixed soon!

I may have been ever so slightly premature in anouncing that new feature ... two days on I am still debugging it!

I am having issues gettign th eyahoo group to accept mail coming from the web server, as soon as I get that sorted this will be up and running.

erm... ok probably should have told you sooner but mails to yahoo from this site get filtered as spam.

A colleague found his subscription confirmation in his spam filter in his yahoo mailbox.

OK, it now works!

From now on anytime some one starts a new topic on these boards a notification about it will be sent to the old yahoo group.

This should help coax people out of the old group and on to these new boards.

Hi Im currently trying to deploying a forums for my company and Im using PHPBB. I need a feature that will send out email notification to particular address whenever a new topic is posted.

And your topic here indicate have done that. May I ask how you were able to implement it??
