Astronomy Now Year Planner 2007 was created by Silversurfer
I was checking the astronomy now astronomical calendar last night, to see if there were any astronomical events due.
So last night, (if clear) would have had Mars 1/2 degree south of the Moon and Jupiter 1 degree south of the moon and in an extremely unusual move Easter Sunday on 15th April 2007-
Now Easter is calculated as the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring Equinox, I would have thought that an astronomy magazine would have been able to calculate that correctl

Mmmm...

I've never bought a copy of Astronomy Now. Perhaps I'm oldfashioned, but experience suggests to me that a magazine entitled "<whateveritis> Now" is screaming "Buy me!" rather than worrying about accuracy.

John,
In fairness Astronomy Now is a good magazine, founded by Sir Patrick Moore and others twenty years ago. I just though it humorous that an astronomy magazine would get something as basic as the date of Easter wrong.

I stand corrected.

I'm just not a fan of many of the glossies, the only real purpose of which seems to be to gather advertising revenue. Before I started to pursue my interests in astronomy and photography more seriously computers were my main interest and I learned over the years that the content in many glossy magazines must be taken with a grain of salt. In some cases a spoonful...

"Sky & Telescope " magazine isn't just a "good" magazine, its as good as any magazine gets.

Its right up there with Scientific American.

I have never come across a "bad" Astronomy Magazine.

I have copies of Astronomy Now from issue 1.

Top notch.....

P.S. Martin:

There is no such thing as the "Spring Equinox"

It's properly called the "Vernal Equinox."

As I said:

"He who hath never erred...etc."
