The IFAS Boards: 4 years on the go...

Yep, May 2nd is the official inception date of these boards (thanks to Bart), allowing the IFAS community - and many more individuals - to become more actively involved and more organised. Prior to this, IFAS was just a Yahoo Groups group of people, swapping messages back and forth with a rudimentary way of starting and replying to topics.

Now, it is operating at such a capacity like any charity, organisation, or not-for-profit company would, that the world has begun to really take notice of this site and its many valuable members.

Just look at the initial stats:

Over 44,300 seperate posts spanning 5,900 individual topics of discussion, contributed by 1,112 registered users to date, coming from all corners of the globe. To back up the database alone takes almost 7.5 minutes to download at a DSL speed of 130kBps average (62MB database)...


...that's some going. Long may it continue.

Is there anyway that there could be some sort of search engine that we could use to look for various posts throughout the 5 years the boards have been in operation.

There is already a search facility, at the very top of the page in small writing.
