Guys.
Here is what you do to prove they are the same colour.
Click on the image that shows the squares connected.
Then, with your fist create a tiny hole to look through, just enough of a hole
so you only see the letter 'A' fully encompassed.
Now travel down to the letter 'B'.
Hey presto, it's the same color!
It was drilled into us in art college that the colour that you 'see' usually
isn't the colour that is actually there!
Sometimes you see artists making square or circle shapes with their hands
as they paint.
This is sometimes confused with thinking they are 'framing' the scene.
Indeed, you can frame a scene this way but it is usually photographers that do this.
The painter is looking for the 'true' colour of what he is looking at
and not what his brain is 'seeing'.
That is what really seperates the the great 'photorealisim' or traditional landscape artists from the rest.
Another thing you'll see them doing is holding out the brush or pencil and sliding
their thumb up and down.
This is a measuring technique used essentially for perspective.
(another optical illusion)
This interesting thing about all this, is that it does make you
think about how accurate our scientific observations actually are
and what outcome these 'mistakes' would have.

I know they both look different........... its an optical illusionNot to me, both look different. "A" is dark grey, and "B" is lighter grey

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time. . . .
