Q.E.D: A challenge to Science Seminar, NAVAN,2nd October was created by galwayskywatchers
Hi aLL,
At the end of our meeting last night we had a visitor from Meath who brought to our attention of a seminar called Q.E. A challenge to Science being held at Lismullen Conference Centre, Navan, next Saturday at 9.30 am. It aims to challenge the way they say, “The scientific establishment is loading science with unwarranted ideology. Anyways they have 3 speakers with the main speaker Sebastian Ferrer from Spain on “Apparent singularities of out solar system: Are we alone?” Check out www.lismullin.org . I defo aint going, not really my scene, but maybe someone there it may appeal to.
Our own meeting was a fascinating insight into Gamma Ray Bursts by Doctor Mark Lang, with many slides of his work at Kitt Peak near Tucson and at the MMT telescope at Mount Hopkins in Santa Cruz. It was also interesting to see Irish graduates working with state of the art equipment built at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and NUI Galway on the new VERITAS array that they are building just below the MMT.

My old physics teacher, sadly deceased, would love the discussion on "Can a Catholic be an honest scientist?" Stupid question.
