Well done to Geraldine Hogan. They've made the deal of a lifetime and yet they're still looking after SAC. Now that's the kind of business ethic that should be rewarded.

To all,
I emailed DM about the "high end" question and this is his reply:
"It's mostly the high end ones we're asked about. All prices were set to come down in the summer but this had to be revised to next year. It's not easy producing a 48 page colour magazine every 4 weeks, running a very active national society like AI, and a major Shop, when suppliers change the prices of the thousands of items you have in stock 2 or 3 times a year! But there has been a price war in the UK (and we do keep a huge warehouse stock) and what I was trying to get across is that fellow Irish amateur astronomers can reap the benefits now, and many have already done this in the past days, weeks and months. Email info@astronomy.ie if you need a 'deal' on ANY Celestron.
Note also that we are selling most books at HALF PRICE (see www.astronomy.ie ). That's less than amazon.com!"

I'm sorry, but I find that hard to believe! Have you seen the differences in the prices? See www.irishastronomy.org/user_resources/fi...098905609-Prices.bmp if you haven't. Thats some negotiating.
Just a small point, if their prices are going to drop so low, why are they still advertising the high ones?.....

To all,
I emailed that "Dublin Shop" and they said "they do
not do ANY Coronado products.
They also said that their high end Celestron prices are all negotiable and (for
members of any Irish astronomy club) they can match
the UK sterling prices.
Just call and ask they said."
