Things Take Time!

I'm writing a grant to visit Ireland, Scotland, and England to learn about your science past and present. I teach middle school earth science and do some observing with my students. Any suggestions on places to see or events this summer to visit.
Thank You

Paul,
depending on the area(s) you are in, why not take in a local lecture by a listed astronomy club? I post notices here for Tullamore Astronomical Society, there is a list of clubs on the frontpage here, and most have websites if you click on their name.
You MIGHT get lucky if you do attend one, and it has dark clear skies that night for observing afterwards!
Seanie.
