Music and observing.

I'm just curious as to what music you all listen to while observing (if you do listen to music).

For me, i have a couple of Jean Michel Jarre (French keyboard/synth wizzard)on my MP3 player.

I love his music and find it very relaxing (and by coincidence it is very spacey...........galactic like).

Kinda enhances the whole experience of viewing objects million/billions of miles away in the cosmos.

Interesting thing there Paul,
I got a radio for the observatory a few years back and I put on either 2FM or one of the local radio stations.
I find it help keep me awake during those long nights.

I have my mp3 on with my albums on it. You know, Bros, Kylie, Britney, Cliff Richard, Take That, Steps and of course I never go out without;

Boyzone!

I listen to some really ambient music at a low level when I'm out, I find that it enhances your observing. Is there a place I could upload it to, and make it available to listen to??????

Norwegian black metal (Although some Swedish and Finnish bands too), as it is music solely dedicated to nature, the rejection of those systems put in place to control us such as politics and religion, and the embracing of the wild and this place we are in. As a musical philosophy built around pagan traditions and heavily derived from composers and artists of Romanticism, the music is all about ancient ruins, lawless forests, dark moments in the soul and hidden joys; these are the primary symbols of Romanticist literature and art, and I find it a perfect accompaniment to observing in cold frosty nights.
