Well, I have to say, this thread has been the best Monday morning opener for quite some time! You're a gas bunch of lads... well, freaks really! :D

Back on topic about the music question... Anything goes for me. I'd boast hat I'd bring my 80GB of MP3's outside with me on the laptop when out observing, but that would be a lie. ;) I hardly ever bring any music out, but when I do, it's just a good ol' mix of whatever is in the folder.

anyway, I have the greatest admiration for al of yaa. multi-talented people who can multi-task ....listen to music and operate a telescope.

This is even funnier in the cold sober light of day. I have tears running down my face.

I've got stuff that nearly covers the spectrum from ambient to axe-wielding vikings. Currently on my iPod (which I only use while observing):

Cocteau Twins
Dead Can Dance
Enya
The Jesus and Mary Chain
KiLA and Oki
Lucybell
Moya Brennan
Portishead
Rhea's Obsession

Jean Michel Jarre, though? I think you're dating yourself... sounds more like pj40something than pj30something.
