Hey guys,
I am a complete newcomer to astronomy but thought the Meade ETX 70 might be a good scope to start off with.Forgive me for asking a stupid question but I was trying to train the drive the other night when the autostar made a funny noise and then read "motor unit fault".Does anuyone think I might have damamged the drive?
Would appreciate anyone's advice
Shazzie

That is one of Meades most unhelpful error messages!
Try
. not having the scope tightened too tightly to the fork.
. using fresh batteries.
It can also (on the LXD55 anyway) be due to not having the drives calibrated, bad connections, bent encoders etc. but try the above easy solutions first.
