Erratum: This is St. Brigids Month, "MÃ BrÃd" in Gaelic, not "Brigid's day" as I stated.
(Brigid's Day is 1st Feb.)

The “Leap Day†adds on average 0.25 of a day to the length of each year.
Therefore without Leap Days the “average year†would be shorter.
Therefore ,without leap years, the calendar date would now indicate a year
in the distant FUTURE.
Not in the distant PAST.

The other way around.If we took out all the 29th days from our calender and subtracted from the age of earth, we would be approximately 1.9 million years in the past?
