gravitational lens was created by Mikey fergus
Hi guys just wondering. If i was to travel through a part of space that was affected by gravitational lensing would time be distorted? Would a person travelling through that space experience "time travel".

Mikey,
Yep when you come close to any mass like a planet or galaxy time as well as space is distorted. However this happens in such a small and imperceptable way you would never notice. In order to actually perceive this you would need to get *really* close to a supermassive object like a black hole.
If you want to really undertand how this all works in a very understandable fashion I highly recommend a book called 'The Elegant Universe' by Brian Greene. It explains this type of concept in an analagous way which is readily understandable.

Hi Mikey, Gravitational Lensing doesn't effect space
it is an effect caused by the interaction of mass with
the fabric of space. And the fact that you experience
a force (Gravity) means that you are already traveling
through a region of space which does cause Gravitational
lensing all be it very small.
