Thanks for that Jouke. I already use it, however I am often confused by the cloud percentages given. Maby somebody could help clarify this for me.

They give percentage cloud cover for High, Middle, Low & Total. For example tommorrow is 74% high, 1% middle, 2% low & 76% total. However the graphical repsentation of the clouds floating by the night sky would indicate the night will be mainly clear. Can anybody explain this?

I use MetCheck too and have my browser set for Wicklow.

Now I've just noticed this based on the url that you posted, you can get a prediction based exactly on your co-ordinates, ie right on top of your house! If you have a gps or co-ords from a map try entering a url as follows:

www.metcheck.com/48hrforecast.asp?lat=53.20&lon=-6.10

Just set your latitude and longitude, here the eg is for Bray, Dublin.

Same with the cloudcast and other features on the site.

www.metcheck.com/cloudcast.asp?lat=53.20&lon=-6.10

Cool. 8)

For Kerry, I get 200% cloud cover, don't open the door or you'll get clouds inside and don't open your mouth unless you want a lost 747 flying into it. :?

I'll be polishing my lens cap then.

I love these websites that quantify how depressed you're going to be for the next 48 hours. A depression will be centred over South Kerry all week. www.weather.slash.wrists .

:? Scratch that, doesn't seem to work properly. Looks like it needs the location id at the end of the url. So no fine tuning then, pity.

200% cloud cover  Sounds about right for Ireland.

There is another site that gives the cloud forcast on maps with animations.

See theyr.net/cg/cny/I1cc5b7/F=js*v*041215*10*IE*ie_Dublin and then select the clouds forecast. This link has the date and time in it so it may not always work. If so just go to the home page at www.theyr.net/ and zone in on Ireland.

They also have a "send a forecast" to your mobile phone service but I have never used it.
