amateur astronomer other hobbies/interests

Hi

Seeing that Irish amateur astronomy looks all but dead over the Summer months, especially with the repeating bad weather patterns we have had the past few years:( . I though it might be interesting to see what everyone does when the scopes and cameras are put away out of the rain.
For me its a spot of sea angling whenever possible, a chance to practice the flute and entertaining my dear wife. With the bad weather it has been tempting to go to the pub but I am avoiding that.

Well, for me, I work 5 nights a week as a DJ (3 on radio, 2 as a gig/venue DJ), and I do think of it more as a hobby than work, so they take up my night time anyway. Other than that, some reading, movies, hiking/walking, entertaining my cat... and my wife, and general relaxation!

For me, it's gardening and bitching about the weather on both counts...astronomy and gardening the weather has been a little unkind: angry:

Golf (GOD HELP ME):S Recently gotten in photography, I like nothing more than a hike in the hills and banging on the keyboard, not the musical type, the QWERTY type.
