A website for observations was created by pulsar
Hi everybody, I've been taking another one of my looong breaks (It's happened before). So for those of you who don't remember me, I'm Daniel. Anyway, I'm working on a website dedicated to astronomical observations, a bit like Flickr (only for observations rather than pictures of sunsets and puppies), and wondered if anybody has any suggestions about features. So far I'm working on having an object catalogue (so far I've managed to load in NGC/IC/M catalogues), which allows you to select the object you've been observing, and so on. It also shows a map of it's location (courtesy of WIKISKY.COM at the moment), and should be able to show a graph of the optimal viewing time, and info about planets location &c.

I don't know quite where the idea came from, but I like the idea of having observations layed out and organised in the same way, to make comparing notes, &c easier.
I'll be working on the project during the days ( and cloudy evenings ) over Christmas, and I might be looking for testers afterwards.

Thanks for taking the time to read this rather poorly drafted blurb.

Hi Daniel,
Sounds like an interesting idea.
Just so I understand it fully, the user selects an object from a menu, a chart appears which they can print off to find the target and after they have observed it, they can then type some notes they made regarding their observations - is that correct?
Michael.
