Record levels of rainfall fell last year as heavy showers swept across the country, meteorologists said today.
Met Éireann’s weather summary revealed annual number of wet days were up to 20% above normal everywhere in 2008, with 140 recorded at Casement Aerodrome and 234 at Knock Airport.
It said the last 12 months were the wettest for between six and 22 years generally.

. The greater Leinster area received over 200% normal rainfall! Makes you want to weep into your beer!

Naw my beers already diluted enough..........
I've said it before.. We need a serious solar cycle to improve the weather. The sun's magnetosphere is essential to reducing cloud cover on earth. Reduce the cosmic rays influence on cloud formation and clear skies will follow...: cheer: : cheer:

yea, that's no joke,
It does seem like that when the sun was active in its previous cycle that the weather was definitely better.

I don't know guys, every time Old Sol got active and spewed in our direction, we got cloud cover and couldn't see the resulting aurorae, much to John Flannery's disappointment...
