I forward these alerts as SMS messages now. Ever since I started doing that its been raiing when I get them!

Al, Do you remember when we discussed setting up a text message system to alert each other of these such things? It would be nice to share numbers, only to those who are interested and give permission first though, and definitely not printed anywhere! It would be like sending a private text instead of a private message on the board :idea:
I myself would'nt mind sending a few texts around when this happens again

The plan was to allow a certain dedicated bunch of people who could sms each other until the message reached someine near a computer, then have them send an email to a mailing list.
Subscribers to this list could sign up with their mobile account email address (o2 and vodafone have this feature at least), and have the subject line sent to their phone. This way they would pay for a regular SMS and not a higher rate SMS.
Last time I asked there were only a couple of people interested in even recieving the texts so I didnt bother doing any more about it.
