Shuttle and Space station tonight was created by ei5fk
From what I can see the two of these will be visible over Ireland tonight roughly in the same orbit and one minute behind the other
Shuttle 9 Sep 0.2 22:06:57 10 WSW 22:08:31 27 SW 22:08:31 27 SW

Space Station ISS
9 Sep -1.8 22:07:57 10 WSW 22:09:31 27 SW 22:09:31 27 SW

Simply both will be maximum elevation due south west at 27 degrees, Shuttle first 22-08 to 22-09 followed by a much brighter ISS about one minute later

There is an earlier lower orbit at 8-35 and 8-36 respectively

DOUBLE FLYBYS: Space shuttle Discovery and the International Space Station (ISS) undocked on Sept. 8th, and now they're circling Earth side by side. Hours after the split, Malcolm Park photographed the two spaceships gliding through the stars above Port Perry, Ontario:

Very nice,
Just saw the second pass tonight of the shuttle and iss, got them tracked in the scope also, the shuttle is certainly small compared to the view of the iss.
We're gonna get even better passes over the weekend, perfect timing for once.

I saw the first pass just after 8.30. Bright enough. Not sure but I *thought* i could see a very tiny dot a smidgin behind the ISS... I missed the second pass - packing for Italy tomorrow - woo hoo!

Here we are! You have watch this in hi-def full screen to see both spacecraft, and as you'll hear Jude gets more excited about it than I do, and also has keener eyesight!

Enjoy!

Nice photo Charles, It almost looks like late evening than night with the colours there!

Paul, good video. Who's Jude?

Thanks Seanie - Jude's my wife - always sees the first star before me! Sky was too light to get a long exposure with both spacecraft so I thought I'd give the video a go.

We may get another go just before 2100 tonight - landing is just after midnight so the deorbit burn will come after tonight's pass.
