Now I'm Worried

Once upon a time i bought an eyepiece from the US. It was sent via USPS with a tracking number.
Unfortunatley, when it hadn't arrived after a couple of weeks, I checked it online.
GLS, who handled the USPS mail at the time, never bothered to deliver it and so sent it back.
It had gone from the US -> Germany -> Ireland where it was sent back via Germany again to the US.

The seller then complained at the local post office and so resent it.
This time I kept a close eye on it and phoned the GLS office as soon as it entered the country.
However, the eyepiece took an even more exotic route: US -> Germany -> Greece before arriving in my hands in Ireland.

USPS now use An Post for delivery - TG!
My guess is that it is stuck in customs.

So, bear with it for another while Paul - I had to wait 3 months for mine!

Sounds like you'll be ok there Paul, give it a bit more time.

I've bought a ton of stuff off of Astromart. About 90% of it arrives in 5 - 7 days, but the other 10% sometimes takes as long as a month. At least one time that I can recall was because of customs, and at least one time was not, but I can't remember the general breakdown between them.

Thankfully, I've never had an experience as bad as Michael's. Anyway, good luck with it.

Panic over, it arrived this morning, perhaps I should learn a little patience.

Hi Paul, glad to hear all is well that ends well. I am sure it is a relief.

It just goes to show that we are totally reliant upon a chain of logistic personnel to deliver safely and on time our little necessities in life, although invariably it is never really on time and hopefully the item arrives as described by the seller and not broken into pieces. Has Mr. Revenue looked for any funds on this item?
