Anthomy,
Did you see the images taken by Mark Stronge in Antrim?

Last Friday night's aurora was supposed to have been one of the most spectacular displays of recent times. I didn't think so.

Beeautiful. Lucky sod had clear skies! Must have been the only astronomer in Ireland to see the display without hindrance. Personally speaking, I think the moonlight actually ADDS to the quality of the photos . . .
Kind regards,

Hey
thanks for the compliments guys. As you can read on that webpage - it was the most amazing experience I have ever had! The dynamics of the aurora were extraordinary!
Last November 2003 I thought that that was just amazing and the red colours were most prominent. This time, the greens were the dominant colours and it was far better than any fireworks display. I don't think I have ever been jumping up and down at a fireworks display...!!!
Don't miss out on the slideshow that is linked at the bottom of that page too.

Mark,
I hope you don't mind, but I copied your aurora photo and did some level adjustments with PhotoShop. I couldn't e-mail it to you, so I copied it to here:

What do you think??

No, I don't mind at all.
All the images on the EAAS site are unprocessed, straight from the camera, so it is possible to adjust them to make the aurora stand out. All the photos I took are very much true to life and are very close to the brightness and colour that I saw visually...

Mark,
Great pics of the aurora , I wish we could have seen it here, but alas, the clouds were against us.
