NLC Alert and Report!

Last year a few of us on these boards had a
NLC text thing going on in that when we spotted some
we would send a message to alert each other...
it worked a treat!

Following on from that I've created a Facebook page
to help people keep up to date with the sightings.

Yea, Frank and I saw some very faint looking ones right on the Northwestern horizon last night, so keep an eye out.
The NLC season might start with a blast tonight!!

ditto - good idea was wondering where they were. Looking back on my log they were already here last year...

btw while im on FB Im not that familiar with it - do i have to do anything to sign up to this. (must me the sign of middle age when I cant figurs out these social networking thingies )

Just follow the link above to the page, Dave, and click the 'Like' button along the page heading, then feeds will appear as they do like your friends' activities.

Good idea Frank here is another being done for BBC Radio 4's 'So You Want to be a Scientist?' Over the coming months they will be relating observations of noctilucent clouds to VHF radar measurements of the mesosphere. www.bath.ac.uk/news/2010/04/28/noctilucent/
