Folks, Just in case you don't know already, A lunar Occultation of Antares will take place on Friday morning Feb.4th visible ideally in eastern europe, we won't get to see it ourselves, but it could be worth a look to see the moon very close to this 1st magnitude star, it has'nt occulted Antares in years!
Antares and the Moon will both rise at 4.45am and 4.42am (UT) respectively, Antares being only 10 arcmintes west (to the right) of the moon, but at around 6am, Antares will still only be 40 arcmintes from the dark limb of the 29% Sunlit moon, that's only 2/3rds of a degree
Might be a good chance to get a shot? There should be more occultations of this star (one of my favourites) over the coming months.
