I'm waiting for Dave Lillis' riposte to that dig about humour on the forum. It will be his 8000th post (!!!!!!), so in honour of that milestone it should be an absolute side splitter (no pressure Dave).

We're going head over heels to add a little humour to the site,
oh no, wait, you've already done that, ;)

I didnt realise it was going to be post no. 8000, only beaten by your best friend and mine,
Seanie.

seriously though, glad to see you weren't hurt, accidents do happen, it crosses my mind every time I use the ladder with the scope.

Hmmm, not such a 'bright' idea after all, at least the 'waxing' moon was out of the way

:P :woohoo:

Goodbye Norma Jean....... :silly:

Seriously, given that we astronomers tend to be roaming around out in the dead of night (legitimately, I should add:unsure: ) there are probably cases of serious injury or fatalities due to one of the following

a) Having a large mount and scope fall on someone (would never happen to me:( )

b) Electrocution due to the extended use of mains voltages combined with damp nights

c) Hypothermia or exposure

d) Trips and falls over equipment, cats, candles, cables etc......

e) Attacks from wild animals, snake bites (only here) , passing drunks and thugs.

Its certainly not a "safe" hobby in the normal sense.
