Buzz Aldrin says not to call these people astronauts, so do we need to come up with a new definition for someone who goes to space.
I suppose someone who goes onboard a ship isnt a sailer, he'd be a passanger.
Then again, what would ESA call someone who would go to space????
To me the term "astronaut" would define anyone in the western world who goes to space, irrigardless of how or why.
So you go PJ, our first Irish astronaut!!!
