The Pentagon budget is to increase by £10 billion, almost five per cent, to reach £222 billion overall. That does not include the further £42.4 billion the White House is to ask Congress for later in the year for Iraq and Afghanistan.


They could fix the HST then look for terrorists in space (good a placs as any!) and give the rest of us some peace and quiet!

If the gyros hold out long enough perhaps the Chinese will have gotten their act together enough to go and repair it for them! Happy Chinese new year btw.

Its a real pitty that the original plan a number of years ago to go up there and bring it back is now out of the question, if they want volunteers to go on the shuttle to get it, I'm game!

Isnt it amazing they cant find the money to keep hubble up but they can find gazillions to send thousands of troops half way across the world?
