John Flannery pointed out to me that there are some aurora articles in the March 2000 issue of S&T, including a page on taking photoraphs. I've upload that page to the files section, hopefully S&T wont mind/notice!

From reading this it appears that a 50mm f/1.0 seems to gives the best balance between aurora and background stars. No wonder most of my pics didn't come out...28mm @ f/3.5 :roll:
Anyway, I'll know better next time...
