The weather - a progressive bad trend? was created by Frank Ryan
I can not recall such a bad run of weather
(cloudy nights) since I've been observing on a regular basis.
I used to keep a log (when I was young) and recorded clear nights
and observing sessions on a regular basis.
A good habit that I let go.
I'm just wondering has anybody kept a log.
Just to see how bad it's actually gotten.
We all suffer from the
'ahh it was never this bad yeaaars ago I tells ya!' syndrome.
This year has been particularly bad,
or so it seems to me.

You're not imagining it Frank, the amount of cloud this
Year has been very high, I too used to keep a log back
In my younger days
I would say at the moment about 3/4 nights are cloudy
Keith..

Hi Frank,
I, like you, used to keep a log (went by the wayside long ago) and do remember more frequent clear spells prior to around 4 or 5 years ago (except for the cold snaps, but even they were not always cloud - or fog - free).
I 'work' 4 night a week so I get to see what the weather is like on my way home and more often than you'd think, cloudy nights have prevailed the past couple of years.
Seanie.
