"SEE THE RINGED PLANET: SATURN WATCH"Fri 18th & Sat 19th Feb. 2005
Public Star PartyFrom 8.00pm till after 10pm
at the Sandymount Tower car park (south end of), Dublin 4.
No Charge.
Sky watchers of the Irish Astronomical Society invite you to join them at
the location and times mentioned above (provided that the skies are
reasonably clear). A number of quality telescopes will be available for viewing the ringed planet Saturn.
In February Saturn, the ringed planet, is now at it's best for telescopic evening viewing. It's rings are readily visible as is it's big moon Titan recently visited by the Huygens spacecraft. Our own moon is also well placed.
A poster is available in the IFAS files section

Hope this event went well for you John and all in the IAS. Glad to see you have your insurance issues sorted out too. Sorry I couldn't make it, but I'm sure you had plenty of visitors with tonights weather. There were probably quite a few people out walking the dog who popped over I imagine.
