I guess I'll figure out tonight how effective it is. Essentially, they aimed the street light away from my garden (it's at an angle), and put some sort of black material over the back of the light. Hopefully it will do the job

Incredibly Dave! Light was so bright, it literally stopped me from observing 1 quarter of the sky. Not to mention, made it impossible for my eyes to adjust to the darkness.
