The applications there are endless.
Goodbye to chromatic abb. vignetting. Heavy eyepieces. Etc etc. .....
What could be the applications for OTA's. ...

I think the highlighted part of that statement is one of the most exciting. If the manufacture is scaled, I don't think it's too far fetched to wonder what it means for the newtonian telescope in the long-term.

Pure speculation but not outside the realm of reality.
