...10 years old this month? That's right,
www.irishastronomy.org
and these forums went live on May 4th 2003. Since then, we have had:
- Over 95,000 messages among over 12,400 unique topics.
- Over 2,100 registered users (and a few banned ones!).
- Too many hits to count.
- Tips, photos, YouTube clips, information, events, equipment, insults and giggles passed between members from not just Ireland, but known to take part in USA, Canada, Holland, Greece, Italy, Spain, the UK, Australia and South Africa, to name a few!
So take a bow, this website is the result of you and your interest in Astronomy, backed by a team first initiated by Bart Busschotts, our first registered member on that May 4th 2003!
Seanie.
P.S. A migration from phpBB to Kuena forum software meant that the original registration date seen on user profiles as July 19th 2008 was reset to this date. Everyone you see with a July 19th 2008 registration date was actually a registered user in the years before then.

Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better programs, and the universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the universe is winning.

Congratulations to all concerned and a big thank you to the generous people who keep the forum going. It's a great facility and I check several times every day to stay in touch with all the latest. You never know what fascinating/useful/funny/essential contribution is going to appear next.
