Final Speakers Announcement !

MAC Are delighted to welcome Both Keith Geary and Deirdre Kelleghan to Cosmos 2015.

Keith will deliver a talk on wide field astrophotography, something I personally am very much looking forward to.
Keith's images have graced this site for many years and his work is first class.

Deirdre Kelleghan requires no introduction to any of us within the astronomical community. Dee will be giving a talk on sketching and we might even get some insight into her current project a model of Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko. One not to be missed!

A poster will be published soon, along with details on prices and hotel.

Last year was a wash out for observing, and a first in a long time. Cosmos tended to get at least one clear night observing.

With Observing in mind we are actively seeking a darker site locally, one that's a little darker than the hotel car park.

Details to follow.

Could Cosmos get any bigger ? Well YES!

Last year you may remember Mary Mulvihill asking how many people in the room had been to Birr Castle to see the Great Telescope. Sadly few hands went in the air. This got us thinking :)

Included in your weekend ticket for Cosmos 2015 will be a trip across to Birr Castle for a fully guided tour of the Great Telescope. A bus will pick up at our venue and drop guests back to the door.

We have a few more surprises to come.
