Hi,

I you are across the pond, Stellafane is a famous star party held at a dark site in Vermont each summer. This year its on the 24-26th July 2014. As well as observing, many good talks and workshops are held. All in all a great event.

See Convention Schedule .

By the way, I am invited to give a talk at the event. The title of my talk is A Visual Observer's Guide to CCD Photometry on the Saturday.

Hi,

Thanks for the good wishes. My talk went well and I hope it encouraged both visual and CCD Photometry of Variable Stars.

We had two clear nights, but the first night was very murky near the horizon. The cause was forest fires in N.W. Canada!
The second night was much better.

There was an awesome view of the best galaxy in the sky! Also SS Cygni put on an outburst especially for us!

Well done John, sounds like it was a great event, observing and even as a spectacle.
