IFAS Club Reps was created by Paul Evans
Hi All,
I'd like to get together an updated list of who the club reps are, and their contact details - all info gratefully received - thanks to those who have already replied in the Reps Forum.
Also, see below, If you are a willing speaker, happy to travel to other clubs to give a talk, please send me details of the talk(s), your contact details and any other relevant details such as how far you're prepared to travel etc.
Here's the current club membership list - if we could get the gaps filled in that would be a good starting point........
Astro 2 (NUI Maynooth)
Cork Astronomy Society (CAC)
Galway Astronomy Society (GAC)
Irish Astronomical Association (IAA)
Irish Astronomy Society (IAS)
Kerry Astronomy Society (KAC)
Midlands Astronomy Club (MAC)
Shannonside Astronomy Society (SAC)
South Kerry Astronomy Society (SKAS)
St Cronan's Star Gazers (StCSG)
Northern Ireland Amateur Astronomy Society (NIAAS, formerly East Antrim Astronomical Society, EAAS)
NUI Galway AstroSoc
I'd like names and email addresses for the current reps - every club is allowed two regardless of size.
There's a couple of things I'd like to get kicked off that will help IFAS provide some support to the clubs. One of these is the provision of a speaker database to enable clubs to look up folk willing to give talks to member societies. If you have a portfolio of talks yourself, or know someone who does, please forward me contact details and we'll take it from there.
Also, there is a very major Partial Solar Eclipse on 20th March next year. Some may of course be travelling to Svalbard or the Faroes to see the totality but many others will be staying here and running public outreach events. We should try and co-ordinate and publicise these through IFAS at least to the extent that we all know what others are doing.
Please either PM me here or email me at paul.g.evans@gmail.com with any info.
Best Regards and Clear Skies,
Paul.
IFAS Secretary 2014-15
