How are the roads down in Clare, saw some pretty messed up roads/rivers on twitter from Cork and Kerry. Forecast for Sat night shows a chance of clear skies on the West coast. Good Luck

Hi Neill,
Its all a matter of luck really. Friday was an orange weather alert, so the rain in Claire was very severe, so we stayed in Logues Lodge in Ballyvaughan until 1.30, good craic, but there was a bridge down the road that was closed cos part of it had been washed away.
Saturday was a mainly clear day, some cloud but not too bad, so the observing was cloud and clear patches, we got in some nice DSO's aswell as Uranus and Neptune,
Then we had an yellow weather alert today, more heavy rain, so I think it was a miracle that we saw what we did, thats the luck of the draw, we could have ran this next/last week and got clear nights for both sessions,
Only solution, is to have more observing sessions, that way we get more hits

Well done on observing Uranus and Neptune, Dave.
Let us hope for clear skies for the upcoming Total Lunar Eclipse.
Aubrey.
