Nice1 Kinch, it would be good
to finally meet in person, as for not bringing any if your gear, that's not allowed you have to bring your best setup.. Lol.. Only kidding, there will be a lot of gear and I'm sure nobody would mind you peeping over their shoulders.

Cheers Roy

All

At SSP last year a BBQ was started in aid of Barnardos children’s charity and €230 was raised for such a great cause.

The menu for 2015 is ready! Let us know what you think?

We will do 3 BBQ's this year. Please help yourself to food and pop some money in the donation jar after each meal if you wish (not expected).

For other nights that week the fire will be lit so your welcome to cook your own meat or I will cook it for you whilst I do mine. Kerry Lamb is very good or finger food may be appropriate for the Perseids. Vegetarians please bring some vegies and we can cook those too.

Nothing like a sun downer over Ballinskelligs bay, talking astronomy whilst sharing a few drinks as the scopes cool - all for a good cause.

Kind Regards and Clear Skies!

Looks fantastic Kevin ... am really looking forward to the Star Party this year. I've booked go go down Wednesday, the 12th, but am leaning towards maybe being in the Baltimore and Ballinskelligs areas a few days beforehand.

Thanks to you, Roy, Dave, Stephen, and William, for driving this event and putting it firmly on the astronomy calendar.

See you at Cosmos,

John

Great menu Kevin, looking forward to the event, I'll be there from Thursday and it'll be great to see everyone from last year and those new faces.

It has come to my attention that both "Skellig Lodge" and "Seaside B&B" are now full for the SSP.. For those of you yet to book accommodation we at the SSP are very sorry for the bad news as we did not foresee this happening.. There is(to my knowledge)accommodation available in the surrounding areas IE: Waterville, Portmagee and Valentia. These are only a short 10-15min car journey from the Skellig Lodge and Cable O'Leary's where the talks, quiz and raffle take place on the Saturday.. I've also been informed that we will only have room for 100ppl(80 seated,20 standing) for the talks at Cables on the Saturday, so for those wishing to attend on Saturday it is a 1st come.. Again we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused..
