Mayo Skies? was created by pterodactyl
Is there anyone in the Mayo area who would be able to assist in measuring sky brightness/taking photos of the sky? Help needed on light pollution issues.

Hi,

Maybe try contact the team at www.darksky.ie/ or Brian Espey in Trinity College Dublin ( people.tcd.ie/Profile?Username=espeyb ) who is also involved with light pollution issues in Ireland.

There is also a pdf link in a Sky & Telescope article about measuring sky glow with DSLRs. See www.skyandtelescope.com/astronomy-news/o...ith-digital-cameras/ where the pdf link is in the first paragraph.

The iPhone app www.darkskymeter.com/ is also quite good.

Hi,
I have nearly 6000 recordings and photos of the sky on the border with Mayo. These were taken over a few years.
I had send all my data to Brian Espey.
If you are going to the Galway Astro Festival this Saturday (21 Feb)I will have all that data for you on the Meteor stand exhibition.
