Hi everyone,
For anyone in the west not heading to Solarfest in Dunsink, the club here in Limerick has organised a public observing evening at the heritage center by the lake in Lough Gur in county Limerick.
Frank Ryan will be giving a talk in the heritage center giving a run down of whats on offer in the sky at the moment.
We'll have the 10" and 12" club scopes there aswell as the 25x100 binos.
Venus, Jupiter and the Moon will in a prime viewing location across the lake from our position, we'll have the clubs solar filters with us so we can have a look at the Sun before it sets, there is a nice sunspot formation coming into view.
So for anyone in the area, you/'re more then welcome to drop by, we'll be there from 8pm onwards.

Hi Aubrey,
We managed to get in the Moon and Sun (using solar filters), and just as it was getting dark, the clouds rolled in, ah well, we'll always have next year.
We got a good crowd, over 50, it went down very well, good craic .
